Based on the reviews, I purchased this perfume. The item was delivered in less than 24 hours and was nicely wrapped. Everything is fine, however the scent is a little too strong for me. I like to spray the Velvet Rose and Oud on top of the Jo Malone Peony and Blush Suede lotion on my neck. This gives the perfume more depth and longevity, which is a hauntingly lovely combination. Jo Malone scents, in my opinion, are supposed to be coupled so that you can warm it up, freshen it up, spice it up, and so on. When you just get one, it’s like getting half a fragrance, therefore it’ll come off as linear and flat. This ability to be a little creative depending on my mood is something I value.
This rose does not have any silky qualities. The oud isn’t very good in this, and the whole thing is a shambles. I’ve never found a Jo Malone fragrance that I like, and this is one of the worst. It lasts for days, but isn’t that often the case when you’re doing something you don’t enjoy? This reminds me of Delina, which I didn’t care for either. Thankfully, I purchased a sample; I’m pleased I didn’t buy a complete bottle blindly.
